I have been growing Japanese Maples for a while and I find them intriguing. They are not easy to grow in the area where I live, Tarzana California. Emperor I is very similar to the classic Bloodgood Japanese Maple.
In 2019 the weather has been very warm through December and the maples held up well through summer and fall. Now it turned cold, even for Los Angeles the leaves went from green to red in a few days and I did not have a chance to take a good photo.
It has taken at least 3 years for this tree to get acclimated. The maple has been really gorgeous this year and full of leaves.
